When it comes to choosing biond refined sunflower oil, you have two main options – high oleic and regular (linoleic).
Here’s what you need to know!
High oleic oil:
Rich in oleic acid (omega-9), good for the heart
High smoke point (220–230°C) – ideal for frying and baking
More resistant to oxidation
Neutral taste – suitable for all dishes
Linoleic sunflower oil:
Rich in linoleic acid (omega-6), essential for the body
Lower smoke point (160–180°C) – better for salads and dressings, but also suitable for cooking
Prone to oxidation
Neutral taste - an excellent choice for cold dishes and light cooking applications
The choice is yours! If you cook at high temperatures or want a longer-lasting product, go for high-oleic oil. For salads and dressings, regular oil works great too!
